LEAD ARTISANS AND CRAFTSMEN

Bob Wood
Founder and Principal

Bob Wood began his building career at just 14 years old, spending summers apprenticing under his Uncle Joe. More than 45 years later, he has honed his skills and built a company of craftsmen that values tradition, quality, relationships, and reputation above all else.  

Born and raised in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, Bob has worked alongside some of Stonington’s finest carpenters. Small renovations and minor restorations grew into large-scale renovations and eventually custom oceanfront homes, built from the ground up. 

Bob has been married for 39 years and has three grown children, two of whom continue his legacy in the construction industry.

Joseph Carey
Project Manager

With over two decades at the R D Wood Group, Joseph Carey expertly guides each project to completion. His seasoned oversight guarantees the highest-caliber teams, premium materials, and a flawless building experience defined by timeliness, transparency, and uncompromising quality.

Master Cabinetmaker

For more than 15 years, Phil Senical has brought masterful craftsmanship to the company, informed by over 38 years in fine cabinetry and furniture making. His deep respect for the art of detail and design is evident in every custom piece, where precision, balance, and timeless elegance define his work.

Ricardo Nando-Garcia
Master Carpenter

Before joining the R D Wood Group in 2017, Ricardo spent more than 20 years working in New York City. He brings a wealth of knowledge in home construction, including steel and wood framing, window installations, and plaster finishes.

Brenden Senical
Master Finisher

During the last decade, Brenden Senical has risen from apprentice to Master Finisher, leading the cabinet finishing department for the past X years. His natural talent and discerning eye for detail ensure each surface achieves a flawless, refined finish — an essential element in delivering residences of exceptional quality and distinction.

Benjamin Wood
Master Carpenter

Ben Wood began his carpentry career working summers and holiday vacations for the family company, quickly showing an aptitude for fine finish work. He recently spent a season as a carpenter working for the National Science Foundation in Antarctica. Ben is a graduate of Emerson College and is an artist, writer, and musician.
